Warm Weather Scams Homeowners Should Avoid [Episode 194]

Attorney-CPA Joe Cordell and co-host Jill Enders are joined by Don O’Brien, Investigator with the Better Business Bureau, to discuss some of the scams to be on the lookout for as the weather warms.

Spring is the season for unpredictable weather, and natural disasters like tornadoes, hurricanes, flooding, and wildfires sometimes bring out contractors looking to take advantage of people in a time of crisis. Better Business Bureau is warning homeowners affected by natural disasters to beware of “storm chasers” and out-of-town contractors soliciting business. Although not all storm chasers are scammers, they may lack the proper licensing for your area, offer quick fixes, or make big promises they can’t deliver.
