JOSEPH E CORDELL AWARDED LAW FIRM LEADER 2024 Joseph Cordell's firm is well-known for its unique niche practice of aiming for a male demographic in divorce matters. Still, Cordell points out that a number of the firm's clients are female - some of whom he said hire the firm in part to keep its talented attorneys from potentially representing their ex-spouse. "When women come to us, we serve them with the same vigor and passion that we would guys," he said. That vigor and passion has seen the firm through 34 years accumulating nearly 300 lawyers across 41 states. It has also included the creation of Cordell College, a five-part litigation skills development program culminating in a weeklong "trial school" which involves trying a case before former judges. Cordell, an adjunct faculty member at Washington University School of Law, is also a past president of the American Academy of Attorney-Certified Public Accountants and was named president in 2017 of its Missouri chapter.
